Sexism. Not on the part of guys against girls--but girls against guys and even guys against guys. Also, take the classic boy/girl relationship gone bad. The boyfriend and girlfriend aren't getting along too well, so the girl comes onto another guy. Against his better judgment, the guy accepts. The boyfriend, naturally angry as hellfire, puts all the blame on the other guy. Does the other guy deserve a good deal of blame for what he did? Yes. Does he deserve the majority of it? Fuck no. Nothing would've happened if the girlfriend hadn't decided to come onto the guy in the first place. Now, take this situation (background: Hayley = girlfriend from out of state.) The mother thinks that her daughter is incapable of looking out for her own best interests, and therefore any boyfriend she picks must obviously be some kind of creep who does horrible things to her. Right? Wrong. If your daughter actually commits herself to a single relationship for well over a year, just maybe the boyfriend is a nice guy who's good to her. I know the average teenage girl has lower self-esteem than she should, but she's not gonna sit in transit for hours to get to her boyfriend's house if he's gonna give her shit in any way/shape/form. How about the mother at least made an attempt to get to know the boyfriend first before doing anything? Teenage boys--let alone all males--are not all rapists, chauvinists, abusive/disloyal to their partners, etc. Guys actually do have thoughts other than fucking every single person they're attracted to. For Christ's sake, the male gender is being stereotyped because of a few assholes. It's fucking disgusting. I'm not saying that sexism against women doesn't exist by any stretch of the imagination. I think it's also "fucking disgusting", to recycle the phrase, that girls are stereotyped as sluts because of a few women with no self-respect. I just wanted to point out that sexism against males exists, that it is just as offensive, and that it does not go unnoticed. That is all. -Michæl
